it's been a while...

Here's a post of MANY many drawings I've accumulated throughout last year and this year... I realize I use instagram MUCH more than this ancient blog... so here are some sketches I've been doing just for fun, or when an idea sparks... No matter where I am, if I'm traveling or working a lot, I try to do a personal drawing a week (which doesn't sound like much, but you can imagine sometimes we get during crunch time at the studio and one doesn't quite feel like drawing.)  These pieces are all quite small, like 5"X5" all done in mixed media from: prisma markers, micron pens, ink & quill, and some just permanent markers and pens.

Being a vendor at Dcon

I was a vendor at DCON in the Pasadena. Got to meet some lovely people. I loved sharing a booth with my friend Samantha George. Below I'll show you a little snippet of what the booth looked like and what artwork I was selling.

I love bringing my paints to conventions to pass the time, and also share with other artists.

here's a closeup of the fashion bunny I made, ink and watercolors on paper

A sequence to my "fashion: animals, both watercolor & ink on paper

I made little greeting cards, and this one had a "celebration" theme.

I made little greeting cards, and this one had a "magical unicorn" theme.

I made little greeting cards, and this one had a "tropical vacation" theme.

Some designs I put on some tote bags, of my llama and sun designs.

The llama design on the tote bag

And I made coasters too! These are so wonderful because they work with hot or cold beverages!

I made mini paintings of some sunshines too :)

INKTOBER PART II

Here are my additional inktober posts, as well as simple sketches in the bottom.  These pieces are all quite small, like 5"X5" all done in mixed media from: prisma markers, micron pens, ink & quill, and some just permanent markers and pens.

I get inspired by many things, mostly fashion, and runway designers. Two of my favorite couture designers are Marchesa and Christian Lacroix. I also LOVE drawing sweets and food, in addition to cocktail visual recipes, how can someone not get inspired by lovely recipes! If anyone knows me, they know I love foxes, I'm hoping to draw some more lovely sassy foxes with their outfits., :) The posts are a bit out of order so just enjoy!

While I've been away for A WHILE... I wanted to post my "Inktober" contributions! Here's day's 1-12 of Inktober (will post the rest next week!) I've loved doing these "one-a-day" sketches because it really captures the quick thought process and emotion on paper :)

Our DIY wedding

Finally putting up the wedding invites, wedding signs, wedding place cards... basically everything! My husband and I collaborated together on this beautiful project! We had our wedding in beautiful Cancun Mexico, on July 1st 2013 :) our theme was really all about whimsical typography with pastry colors, and using a sea-foam green or pistachio color as the main thematic color (I looooveee pistachio everything, our wedding cake was even pistachio flavor.. yum!) check out the pics!

Talk about DIY, we brought everything and I mean EVERYTHING to our Cancun destination wedding, I even sewed our chevron table cloth runners!

We made signs for the tables and glittered them, we made our cake topper with striped paper straws in pastel colors, and even made the oh so popular paper wedding tassel garlands to go along the chairs in the wedding ceremony. It was all themed out with mexican "papel picado" which is basically tissue paper cut-out and used as a garland decoration.

Hope you enjoy :)
